Moroccan Sahara: 2nd AUSACO Policy Conference to be Held on April 29-30 in Dakhla

Dakhla: The second Policy Conference of the Autonomy for the Sahara Coalition (AUSACO) will take place on April 29 and 30 in Dakhla, focusing on “The New Reality of the Moroccan Sahara: A Pathway for a Revisited UN Approach in an Ever-Changing Geopolitical Context.”

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the high-level conference aims to foster discussion on the regional dispute from multiple perspectives, considering recent developments at the United Nations, the evolving geopolitical landscape, ground realities, and the Royal Atlantic Initiative launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March.

The event will gather former ambassadors, academics, journalists, and lawyers from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It will feature several panels and discussions, alongside field visits to major development projects aligned with the New Development Model for the Southern Provinces, notably the Dakhla Atlantic Port.

AUSACO is an independent and autonomous organization comprising more than 3,000 politicians, parliamentarians, diplomats, academics, journalists, lawyers, and civil society representatives from across all continents. Its common objective is to advocate within political, parliamentary, and academic circles in favor of Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative as the sole and definitive solution to the regional dispute.
