Morocco and France Strengthen Youth-Focused Cultural Partnership

Rabat:France’s ambassador to Morocco, Philippe Lalliot, announced a strong political commitment to enhancing the Moroccan-French youth-driven cultural partnership, highlighting the vibrant cultural scene and creative energy present in both nations.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Lalliot made these comments at the launch of the new cultural season of the French Institute of Morocco. He emphasized that cultural cooperation is set to be a key element of the broader bilateral partnership between the two countries.

Lalliot spoke to an audience comprising cultural, artistic, and media figures, noting that the 2026-2027 season will focus on innovative initiatives that involve young people in bilateral cultural creation. These initiatives aim to engage youth in discussions about the challenges they face for their future.

The ambassador highlighted that the new season will demonstrate the combined talents, languages, creativity, and imagination of France and Morocco. He praised Morocco’s dynamic artistic scene and rich cultural heritage, outlining three main priorities for the season’s programming.

The first priority involves promoting dialogue between languages and perspectives through the “Joussour” program, which supports French-Arabic translation in collaboration with Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.

The second priority is to foster synergy between young talents from both countries by supporting emerging artistic projects, including music, visual arts, dance, and theater, as well as the development of cultural and creative industries.

The third priority aims to expand cultural programming to various regions of Morocco, showcasing the country’s diversity and reaching broader audiences. This includes engaging young people with cultural experiences and enhancing the role of the French Institute’s branches and the Alliance Française.
