Rabat:The Central Committee of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has unanimously authorized the party’s political bureau to manage the next phase of consultations for forming a new government.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this decision was made during an extraordinary session at the party’s headquarters, following discussions among members. The request for this mandate was presented by PPS Secretary General Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah.
The Central Committee emphasized that the party’s participation in the new government depends on the existence of favorable political conditions and clear programs. These elements are deemed necessary for effective management of the next steps and for implementing national priorities such as improving socio-economic conditions and strengthening democratic practices.
Benabdallah highlighted that the consultations with the appointed Head of Government, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, indicated a significant alignment with several of the PPS’s key positions. This reflects a mutual commitment to initiating a reformist momentum capable of addressing urgent political, economic, and social challenges.
He stressed that the PPS’s position relies on clear commitments and concrete guarantees regarding major challenges. Additionally, he noted the importance of having a Parliament and government capable of addressing the current phase’s challenges and a political class that can learn from the parliamentary elections while meeting societal expectations through tangible achievements.
The focus was also placed on economic and social issues, youth and employment concerns, and the fight against inflation and rising prices.
