Morocco and Ghana Strengthen Ties During Conference on Child Soldiers


Rabat: Morocco’s Foreign Minister met with his Ghanaian counterpart in Rabat on the sidelines of a conference focused on the demobilization, disarmament, and reintegration of child soldiers. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to address the pressing issue of child soldiers, particularly in Africa.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Okudzeto Ablakwa praised the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Morocco’s proactive stance on this issue. He expressed Ghana’s readiness to support Morocco’s efforts to establish an African framework aimed at tackling the phenomenon, which significantly impacts the continent.



The ministers highlighted the robust bonds of fraternity and solidarity that connect Morocco and Ghana. They reaffirmed their shared determination to make the cooperation between their countries an exemplary model of inter-African collaboration, rooted in solidarity and mutual assistance.



During their discussions, the ministers reviewed ongoing cooperation initiatives across various sectors and explored ways to deepen bilateral relations. They emphasized the importance of the upcoming 2nd Session of the Morocco-Ghana Joint Cooperation Commission in furthering these efforts.



On regional and international fronts, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the alignment of their views on common issues. They agreed to enhance coordination and support each other within regional and international organizations.
