Morocco’s Development Model Praised by APNODE President


Laayoune: Under HM the King’s Enlightened Leadership, Morocco has emerged as a model for development in Africa, according to APNODE President Adomahou. Following a visit to the city’s socioeconomic and educational projects, Adomahou emphasized that African nations should draw inspiration from Morocco’s development model, commending the Kingdom’s experience and the momentum it brings to the continent.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the APNODE president also highlighted Morocco’s prominent role in South-South cooperation, particularly with the African continent. During APNODE’s 10th annual general assembly, scheduled in Laayoune, Adomahou remarked that Morocco has become a crucial hub for international gatherings due to its active diplomacy and effective sharing of experiences. He noted Morocco’s pioneering efforts in public policy evaluation, adding that APNODE aims to strengthen and institutionalize this practice among member countries.



Abdou Moustadroine, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, shared that the visit provided a firsthand look at the remarkable progress in the southern provinces, attributed to HM the King’s visionary approach in infrastructure and development pace. Lindiwe Dlamini, President of the Senate of Eswatini, also praised the King’s leadership in advancing the Kingdom’s development, welcoming UN Security Council Resolution 2797 on the Sahara.



Former Senegalese minister Haoua Dia Thiam acknowledged the region’s development in key sectors like electricity production, seawater desalination, and phosphate extraction. The APNODE parliamentary delegation visited several major projects, including the university hospital center, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, the City of Trades and Skills, the phosphate port, and the seawater desalination plant, to understand the infrastructure quality in the new development model for the southern provinces.



The delegation was accompanied by several local dignitaries, including the Speaker of Morocco’s House of Councillors, the wali of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, the governor of Laayoune province, the president of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra Regional Council, and the president of the municipality.
