Morocco, Key Player in Global Automotive Industry – Spanish Media

Rabat: The Kingdom of Morocco is poised to become a significant force in the global automotive industry, with expectations to reach a production level nearing one million vehicles this year. This development positions Morocco alongside major European manufacturers and strengthens its leadership on the African continent.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Morocco is already among the top five exporters of passenger cars to the European Union. In the first half of 2025 alone, 194,667 units were shipped, based on Eurostat data cited by the publication. This impressive performance underscores the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving industrial ecosystem, characterized by the presence of major international equipment manufacturers and the expanding automotive hubs in Tangier and Kenitra.

In 2024, Morocco produced 560,000 vehicles, surpassing several European countries with established industrial traditions, as noted by El Economista. The industrial cooperation between Morocco and Spain is also highlighted, with Renault’s decision to assemble batteries in Valladolid for models produced in Morocco serving as a tangible example of the synergies enhancing value chains across the Strait.

This trajectory reaffirms Morocco’s ambition to solidify its position in the global automotive industry. The Kingdom is actively seeking further investment and is fully engaged in the significant transitions shaping the sector, the Spanish daily concluded.
