Morocco to Participate in 2025 World Amateur Team Golf Championships in Singapore

Singapore: Morocco is set to make its presence felt at the 2025 World Amateur Team Golf Championships, which will be held at the Tanah Merah Country Club on the Tampines Course in Singapore. The Eisenhower Trophy, the men’s competition, is scheduled from October 8 to 11, while the women’s event, the Espirito Santo Trophy, will take place from October 1 to 4.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Morocco will be represented by a total of six players-three men and three women. These athletes have been selected from the FRMG’s “Road to The Tour” development program, designed to nurture young talents aiming for the highest levels of golf.

The women’s team features Maria Harrouch, Sofia Cherif Essakali, and Rim Imni. On the men’s side, the team includes Hugo Mazen Trometter, Adam Bresnu, and Alexandre El Khomri.

Hugo Mazen Trometter, who made history as the first Moroccan to win an NCAA Division I tournament in the United States, will be representing Morocco for the second time. He will be accompanied by Adam Bresnu, ranked 88th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), who has shown exceptional skill on professional circuits and will be making his World Amateur Team Championship debut.

Alexandre El Khomri, another promising talent from the national pool and the Road to The Tour program, will also be making his first appearance at the championships.

In the women’s team, Sofia Cherif Essakali, a 15-year-old African champion and member of the 2023 team, returns alongside Rim Imni, both of whom are products of the Road to The Tour program. Maria Harrouch, currently active on the U.S. collegiate circuit, rounds out the women’s team and continues her growth within the national program.

Morocco’s direct qualification for the 2025 edition was secured through the WAGR standings of its top two players. This accomplishment places Morocco among the 36 best national teams globally, highlighting the significant progress of Morocco’s amateur golf scene, as emphasized by the Federation.
