Irish Delegation Takes Note of Development Momentum in Morocco’s Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region


Dakhla: The Irish delegation’s visit, led by Mary Flaherty, former Minister of Social Protection, provided an opportunity to discover the region’s considerable assets as well as its modern infrastructure in different fields. On this occasion, the Irish delegation held a meeting with the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the Oued Eddahab province, Ali Khalil, during which they highlighted the region’s strategic position as a link between Morocco and its African depth, while highlighting the development projects in the region thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the delegation commended, during this meeting, also attended by the acting director of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Investment Center, Ahmed Kathir, the development efforts deployed in the region, particularly in infrastructure and the education and health sectors. Speaking to the press, Kathir stressed that the Irish delegation took note of several development
programs mainly in agriculture, tourism, the blue economy and fisheries, as well as the region’s promising investment prospects.

On this occasion, the Irish delegation also held talks with the president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab regional council, El Khattat Yanja, who highlighted the development momentum in the region at various levels.
