Morocco’s Global Leadership Recognized Under HM the King’s Reign: Former Brazilian President


Rabat: In a recent interview with MAP, former Brazilian President Michel Temer lauded Morocco’s significant progress since His Majesty the King’s ascension to the throne twenty-six years ago. Highlighting the Kingdom’s journey, he emphasized Morocco’s strategic utilization of its rich historical legacy to forge a promising future.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Temer underscored the profound structural reforms Morocco has undertaken, particularly its impressive infrastructure development and substantial investments in renewable energy. He described these sectors as foundational pillars for any nation’s growth. Over the past twenty-six years, the former President noted, His Majesty the King has initiated large-scale infrastructure projects and spearheaded a robust energy transition. Furthermore, Temer highlighted the King’s focus on the religious domain, which he characterized as “a dynamic of particular importance.”

Temer also pointed out Morocco’s pivotal geostrategic position as a logistics and
energy hub linking Europe, Africa, and the Arab world. He asserted that beyond its advantageous geographical location, Morocco’s political diplomacy facilitates dynamic interactions across these regions. For Latin American nations, Morocco is seen as a key gateway to the African continent due to its ancient culture and modern advancements.

Discussing bilateral relations, Temer remarked on the “growing energy” between Morocco and Brazil, both economically and politically. He emphasized the importance of expanding and redefining this strategic partnership to benefit both countries. International relations now heavily rely on trade, and Brazil is keen on enhancing trade exchanges with Morocco.

Temer also highlighted the significance of South-South partnerships and multilateral cooperation. He commended Morocco’s leadership in regional African cooperation, which could bolster ties not only within Africa but also with other global blocs like Mercosur and the European Union.
