Rabat: Morocco’s Human Rights Chief, Amina Bouayach, welcomed a delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Rabat for a high-level meeting focused on human rights issues. In a statement to the press, Bouayach noted the significance of this first meeting between the Moroccan National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and Palestinian political and social actors. She highlighted the productive discussions and interactions that took place, emphasizing the importance of these engagements.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting was a platform to exchange views on human rights matters, which Bouayach described as essential for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region, aligning with internationally recognized human rights standards.
Ahmad Said Ahmad Al-Tamimi, head of the PLO’s Department of Human Rights and Civil Society and a member of the PLO Executive Committee, reiterated his department’s commitment to ongoing communication with the CNDH. He expressed a desire to leverage Mo
rocco’s expertise in human rights to enhance their efforts.
Furthermore, the Ambassador of Palestine to Morocco, Jamal Choubaki, praised the CNDH’s dedication to sharing its human rights expertise with the PLO’s Department of Human Rights and Civil Society, marking a step towards strengthened collaboration between the two entities.
