Rabat: The delegation, led by head of the PLO’s Human Rights and Civil Society Department, Ahmad Said Ahmad Al-Tamimi, met with the agency’s director, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui. They reviewed ongoing aid programs and explored ways to strengthen future cooperation, aligning with the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Cherkaoui highlighted that the visit aims to boost institutional communication and cooperation, especially concerning the social and humanitarian situation in Al-Quds. He referenced reports from the Rabat Observatory, which monitors the health, educational, and psychological impacts on the population.
Cherkaoui also detailed the agency’s recent efforts, noting that it had allocated more than $2 million in the first half of 2025. This funding supported relief programs, psychological and social care for children, and comprehensive care for orphans. The agency is also preparing to launch a new psychological support unit for vulnerable groups.
He mentioned humanitarian initiatives for children in the Gaza Strip, including medical and social care. These efforts, he said, reflect Morocco’s special attention to the Palestinian cause, its support for a two-state solution, and international efforts to achieve stability and development for the Palestinian people.
Al-Tamimi expressed his gratitude for Morocco’s consistent support for Palestine, emphasizing the deep historical ties between the two nations. He added that the PLO continues to coordinate with human rights institutions in Morocco to address humanitarian challenges.
The Palestinian ambassador to Rabat, Jamal Choubki, praised the agency’s work under His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s leadership, commending its social and developmental initiatives that meet the needs of the people of Jerusalem. He described the agency’s work as a reflection of the deep historical and fraternal relations between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples.
