Rabat:The new legislative and governmental term is anticipated to mark a significant turning point in advancing Morocco’s ambition to become a reliable economic power, according to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the King expressed his expectations for the new term during his speech at the opening of the first session of the 12th Legislature’s first legislative year. He emphasized the importance of balancing economic growth with social and territorial equity as part of Morocco’s ambition.
King Mohammed VI highlighted Morocco’s rich history and cultural heritage, noting the country’s pride in its religious identity and the achievements made in political, diplomatic, developmental, economic, and social fields. He stressed that national pride should drive a sense of responsibility and confidence in fulfilling national duties.
In light of global geo-economic shifts, the King outlined the need for new reforms and major projects in Morocco, focusing on infrastructure, water, energy, food security, industrial development, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence. He urged the acceleration of strategic reserves development and the securing of essential commodity supplies.
The Sovereign called on the private sector to play a strategic role in Morocco’s development, encouraging greater initiative and innovation to boost job creation, investment, and exports. He also emphasized the importance of addressing youth issues in public policies, ensuring equal opportunities in education, skills development, and economic integration.
Lastly, King Mohammed VI reminded parliamentarians of their political commitment and moral obligation to the citizens, urging them to uphold their national responsibilities.
