Occupation forces tear down structures, raze land in occupied Jerusalem

JERUSALEM: Israeli occupation bulldozers today demolished structures and razed land belonging to Palestinians in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood and the town of Sur Baher in occupied Jerusalem.

According to local sources, the occupation’s heavy machinery demolished a car-wash garage, tore down the floor of an auto shop and ripped up the asphalt in the neighborhood of Wadi Joz.

The occupation’s heavy machinery also demolished a commercial facility and bulldozed land belonging to the family of Salman al-Atrash in the town of Sur Baher.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Israeli demolitions during the current month of August are equivalent to the total demolitions carried out by the occupation in the city during the first half of 2024.

The reasons for the demolition varied, but most of them were carried out under the pretext of building without a license, although Jerusalemites face great difficulty in obtaining building permits from the occupation authorities.
