Salé – In a joint operation, the judicial police in Salé, collaborating with counterparts in Tangier, arrested a 45-year-old female pharmacist on Tuesday, suspected of having ties to a criminal network engaged in drug trafficking and psychotropic substances, according to a reliable security source.
This development comes on the heels of a successful operation last Saturday, where the judicial police in Salé, working in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, caught two individuals red-handed in the act of trafficking and marketing 1,740 psychotropic tablets. Subsequent investigations, still ongoing in connection with this case, led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the pharmacist believed to be the supplier of these illicit substances.
As part of the ongoing probe, searches conducted in relation to this case resulted in the confiscation of a registry, suspicious invoices, and prescriptions. Additionally, authorities seized a sum of 300,000 dirhams, suspected to b
e proceeds from this illicit trade.
The accused pharmacist is now undergoing a thorough judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The objective is to unravel the intricacies of this case and ascertain the extent of her involvement in these criminal activities, the source concluded.
