President of Global Council for Tolerance & Peace Welcomes UN Resolution Supporting Morocco’s Sovereignty Over Sahara


Johannesburg: President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, expressed his approval for a United Nations resolution endorsing Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara during the 6th ordinary session and parallel meetings organized by the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) from November 1-14. Al Jarwan, who was a guest of honor at the event, acknowledged the Security Council’s adoption of a resolution supporting the autonomy initiative in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty as a positive move towards peace.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Al Jarwan emphasized that this resolution represents a significant advancement, showcasing the international community’s confidence in the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He highlighted Morocco’s role as a stabilizing force, promoting dialogue and coexistence in the region. Al Jarwan extended his congratulations to Morocco’s leadership, government, and people, reaffirming the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace’s support for initiatives aimed at bolstering security, peace, and development in North Africa.



The Pan-African Parliament marked the sixth legislative period of its social session under the African Union’s theme for 2025: ‘Justice for Africans and people of African descent through reparations.’ The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, established in Malta on November 2, 2017, focuses on promoting tolerance, peace, and combating discrimination, racism, and extremism. It also advocates for international law standards that support tolerance and peace.



The Council is committed to upholding the principles of the UN and achieving its objectives. It operates in accordance with international laws governing NGOs and adheres to the national laws of countries where it conducts its missions. Furthermore, the Council is dedicated to empowering women, youth, and people with disabilities, enabling them to play significant roles both nationally and internationally.
