Rabat: Describing the adoption of this resolution by the UN Security Council, which holds binding authority, as a “diplomatic victory” for the Kingdom, the IRIS Director emphasized on his Instagram page that the text establishes Morocco’s Autonomy Plan for the Sahara as the sole framework for a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the IRIS Director highlighted the growing international momentum in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, beginning with the U.S. decision in 2020, followed by those of Spain, France, and other influential players on the global stage.
The French expert also expressed hope that the current momentum could lead to improved relations between Morocco and Algeria, paving the way for lasting peace and prosperity in the Maghreb region.
