Manama, Assigned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Royal Court, received the audited financial statements of the National Audit Office (NAO) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, from Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Auditor General of the NAO.
The Minister of the Royal Court relayed His Majesty the King’s appreciation to the staff of the NAO for their hard work in meeting the Office’s objectives.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed emphasised the important role played by the NAO as one of the results of the reforms led by His Majesty the King’, noting its role in protecting public funds, safeguarding Bahrain’s assets, and ensuring the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, and optimal utilisation of resources.
The minister praised the efforts and professionalism of the staff of the NAO, the tasks and work they perform, and the reports they prepare.
The Auditor General noted that the Office’s development since its establishment
and its ability to fulfill its mandate is attributed to the continuous support and guidance provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He said that the NAO’s financial statements reinforce the vision of the NAO as an independent oversight body that operates with transparency, quality, and high professionalism through its adoption of the best and latest professional standards and practices at the global level, along with continuous training courses for its employees.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Ahmed highlighted the positive approach adopted by the NAO in preparing reports and executing missions.
He emphasised the importance of enhancing partnerships and cooperation with all entities under the Office’s oversight to assist them in improving performance according to international standards.
He highlighted the continuous plans, programmes and initiatives implemented by the National Audit Office t
o improve its operations and increase efficiency.
These initiatives focus on training and developing national talent, promoting digital and technological transformation, and enhancing the legal framework.
