Moscow: Russia has acknowledged the significant role played by Morocco in aiding peaceful resolutions to the Palestinian issue. During a press conference held in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commended Morocco’s continuous support, highlighting the contributions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee of the OIC. Lavrov’s remarks came after his meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Lavrov expressed satisfaction with the initial implementation phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the commitments outlined in this agreement, which were discussed at the Peace Summit on October 13 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Lavrov further stressed the necessity of sustaining the truce and ceasefire in Gaza to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and the commencement of reconstruction efforts. He advocated for the prompt resumption of the political settlement process, grounded in UN resolutions that envision the coexistence of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, ensuring peace and security for both nations.
