SCW announces consultative meeting with civil society organisations to activate initiatives supporting people with disabilities


Manama, The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) will hold a consultative meeting with key civil society organisations dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities.

The meeting aims to align efforts and present the Council’s 2024 initiatives focused on women with disabilities and women caring for disabled individuals.

The meeting also aims to enhance collaboration between the SCW and these organisations to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of services for women with disabilities.

Discussions will centre on identifying challenges and developing strategies to improve support and services for this important demographic.

Representatives from 12 specialised associations, including those focused on Down syndrome, hearing impairment, autism, and cerebral palsy, and more will participate in the meeting.

This initiative is part of the SCW’s ongoing efforts to implement its 2024 work plan, which includes key projects and programmes stemming from the National Strateg
y for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.
