New york: ‘We commend the generosity and decision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to send significant humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,’ St©phane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, told MAP. In this regard, he emphasized the beneficial impact of the aid ordered by the Sovereign, given the ‘catastrophic’ conditions currently endured by the inhabitants of Gaza.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the spokesperson expressed concern over the dire situation in Gaza, noting that ‘the people of Gaza lack everything – food, medicine, shelter…’ Dujarric highlighted the necessity for the international community to ‘spare no efforts’ in improving the humanitarian situation of Palestinians. He also called for ‘pressure on the parties to accept an immediate ceasefire.’
The humanitarian aid ordered by His Majesty the King comprises approximately 100 tons of essential foodstuffs and medicine, specifically intended for vulnerable groups, particularly children and infants. His Majesty the King, as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, ensured that this aid, like previous ones, be transported by air and delivered urgently and directly to beneficiaries among Palestinian brothers.
