UN Resolution on Sahara Recognizes Morocco’s National Cause, Honors King’s Leadership – French Jurist

Rabat: “The Security Council, by approving, recognizing, and thereby legitimizing Morocco’s national cause, has just paid a fine tribute to the vision and diplomatic actions conducted under the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King,” emphasized Seillan, author of the book ‘Le Sahara marocain, l’espace et le temps’, in a statement to MAP.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the French expert highlighted the initiatives of the Sovereign, who spearheaded the diplomatic strategy behind the Autonomy Initiative. This generous proposal, he noted, fully illustrates the foresight of a visionary Sovereign.

Through its historic vote of October 31, 2025, the Security Council has enshrined Morocco’s “resounding diplomatic victory,” Seillan underlined. He noted that “from now on, the only foundation that matters is the solid bedrock of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan on which discussions will take place.”

The French jurist also highlighted the “remarkable” social and economic development witnessed in the southern provinces of the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
