Islamabad: Ould Errachid met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia, Richard Nagbe Koon, and the Speaker of the People’s Majlis of the Republic of the Maldives, Abdul Raheem Abdulla. The discussions highlight the historical and fraternal relations uniting Morocco with these two countries, founded on mutual respect and fruitful, constructive cooperation.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, talks also focused on ways to develop cooperative relations between legislative institutions. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the important role of these institutions in strengthening exchanges and partnerships in various fields.
The meetings were likewise an opportunity to underscore Morocco’s efforts to promote security, stability, and peace at the regional and international levels, as well as to reaffirm the Kingdom’s active role, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in Africa’s boom through the reinforcement of South-South cooperation.
This commitment is reflected
in the Royal Initiatives with continental and regional scope in areas such as food security, migration, renewable energy, water security, training, and the fight against climate change.
Furthermore, the Second Vice-President of the House of Councillors, Ahmed Akhchichine, met with a delegation from the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, while the Fourth Vice-President of the House of Councillors, Lahcen Haddad, held discussions with a delegation from the Malaysian Senate.
These meetings focused on ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and open new prospects through the exchange of visits and expertise in various areas of parliamentary action. They also addressed coordination within regional and international parliamentary forums on issues of common interest.
