Agro Export Day 2025: ‘Made in Morocco’ Label to Boost National Economy

Casablanca: Held under the theme “Made in Morocco, Desired Worldwide: Exporting Moroccan Agri-Food Quality,” Agro Export Day 2025 was a significant event that showcased the potential of the ‘Made in Morocco’ label to enhance the national economy. El Eulj, President of FENAGRI, emphasized the label’s contribution to the economy, highlighting its continental significance and advocating for it to become a symbol of African partnership and solidarity.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the FENAGRI President stressed the strategic importance placed by the Kingdom on developing agri-food exports. He recalled that this sector is a vital driver of sustainable growth, contributing to food sovereignty, industrialization, skilled job creation, and Morocco’s global presence. El Eulj pointed out the ongoing transformation of global value chains, which are now driven by sustainability, traceability, and territorial differentiation. He noted that Morocco possesses the necessary assets to position itself as a leader i
n quality and agri-food excellence.

El Eulj encouraged operators to consistently commit to quality, competitiveness, sustainability, and integration into regional and global value chains. Meanwhile, Hicham Zaki, Director General of the Moroccan Export Insurance Company (SMAEX), remarked that the inaugural Agro Export Day coincides with an exceptionally favorable period for Moroccan export development. This period is characterized by a robust strategic framework, including free-trade agreements, public support for exporters, novel foreign-trade facilitation mechanisms, and advanced logistics.

Zaki highlighted that exports serve as the nation’s most potent tool in a global landscape marked by volatility, geopolitical fragmentation, and intense competition. He advocated for the widespread adoption of credit-insurance mechanisms, especially by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to ensure secure international operations. He also noted that the agri-food sector is now the second-largest sector in terms of commi
tment for SMAEX. Over the past five years, the company has insured nearly 50 billion dirhams in agricultural and agri-food exports, serving over 3,500 importers and supporting operators in nearly one hundred destinations.
