London: British Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice David Lammy praised the progress made in the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Lammy spoke during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, who was on an official visit to London. Lammy highlighted the advancements achieved since the launch of the Enhanced Strategic Partnership, which was established during the Strategic Dialogue held on June 1, 2025, in Rabat. He noted that the partnership continues to support growth and safety.
This Dialogue marked a new direction for bilateral cooperation, aiming to capitalize on the sectors open to this renewed partnership between the two countries, which have maintained diplomatic relations for over 800 years. Lammy emphasized the historical significance of this relationship.
Morocco has established itself as a strategic partner of the United Kingdom, playing a central role in sectors critical to the sovereignty and resilience of both nations, particularly in safety and defense, maritime cooperation, energy transition, food security, water resource management, and health. This collaboration is part of an integrated approach to building sustainable cooperation around shared strategic priorities.
