CNDH Welcomes Adoption of Morocco’s Recommendations by Permanent Arab Committee for Human Rights

Rabat: Morocco’s National Human Rights Council (CNDH) welcomed the adoption of the Kingdom’s recommendations by the Permanent Arab Committee for Human Rights (PAHRC) during its 55th session in Kuwait. These recommendations aim to enhance cooperation between Arab states in the areas of legal and institutional protection of the family, as well as addressing specific emerging issues related to human rights.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the CNDH had previously encouraged the PAHRC to incorporate these emerging issues into its action plan. This includes considerations on artificial intelligence and human rights, along with entrepreneurship and human rights. The Council also emphasized its submission of a memorandum to the PAHRC for the inclusion of the topics of equality and parity on its agenda back in January 2022. An explanatory memorandum was also submitted during that period, focusing on emerging human rights issues.

The CNDH was represented by Mohamed Sabri, an advisor to the office of the CNDH president, at the 55th session of the PAHRC, which took place on February 4 and 5. The participation was at the invitation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, where the CNDH served as an independent observer with the Permanent Arab Committee for Human Rights.
