Rabat: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, applauded Saturday in Rabat the “full” and “thorough” coordination characterizing the Moroccan-Iraqi relations. Speaking at a joint press briefing at the close of his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Iraq’s top diplomat stressed that this exhaustive coordination covers all areas of bilateral cooperation as well as several global issues.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Iraqi minister recalled the reopening of the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad, which he described as a “significant milestone towards greater development and strengthening of bilateral ties.” In this context, Hussein underscored the importance of drawing inspiration from Morocco’s “pioneering” and “rich” experience in Africa, particularly in the fields of economy, tourism, and alternative energies. He called for expanding the scope of bilateral partnership on the African stage.
He also advocated for bolstering cooperation between the private sectors of both countries to facilitate business people’s access to their respective markets, considering the enormous opportunities they offer, stressing the need to enhance air connectivity to promote tourism in both countries. The Iraqi government official stated that his discussions with his counterpart were an opportunity to address a range of issues related to the situation in the Arab region, as well as several other regional and international topics of mutual interest.
