Rabat – The management of the Aïn Sebaa local prison has refuted the allegations being peddled that the detainee (A.B.I) was the subject of two assassination attempts inside the penal institution, in connection with the case in which he is being prosecuted.
In a clarification issued in response to allegations published by certain national and foreign media regarding two assassination attempts on the detainee (A.B.I), a Malian national, incarcerated at the Aïn Sebaa local prison on charges relating to international drug trafficking, the prison’s management stressed that the “person concerned has never been the subject of any attempt at murder or aggression on the part of anyone”, noting that “all the allegations made in this respect are groundless”.
The prisoner in question has never lodged a complaint with the prison administration on any assassination attempt or alleged aggression against him, according to the prison management, adding that he enjoys all the rights legally accorded to him, like the other
residents of the penal institution.
As part of its mission, the management of the Aïn Sebaa local prison is taking all necessary preventive measures to guarantee the safety of inmates, the same source concluded.
