Morocco and France Enter ‘New Golden Age’ of Cooperation


RABAT: In a statement made in Rabat on Thursday, Yaël Braun-Pivet, the President of the National Assembly of the French Republic, highlighted the evolving bilateral cooperation between Morocco and France. She described the current phase as “a new golden age,” emphasizing the opportunities for French involvement as Morocco undergoes a dynamic period of development.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Braun-Pivet expressed optimism about the role that French companies and expertise can play in Morocco’s progress. After her meeting with Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, she noted the strengthened partnership between Rabat and Paris, which was further solidified during President Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit to Morocco. She stressed the importance of realizing this partnership at all levels.

Braun-Pivet highlighted Morocco’s harmonious development, citing advancements in education, agriculture, renewable energy, and water management. She also lauded the social initiatives aimed at benefiting
Moroccan citizens. Her discussions with Akhannouch covered the enhanced Moroccan-French partnership and various programs underway, which she described as extremely productive.

During her official visit, Braun-Pivet, leading a significant parliamentary delegation, also met with Rachid Talbi Alami, the President of the House of Representatives, on Wednesday. Their discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the French National Assembly.
