Washington: The Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, and Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, Mohammed Berrid, were received by United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, during the 14th meeting of the Morocco-U.S. Defense Consultative Committee. The meeting took place in Washington from April 14-16, 2026.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the discussions were attended by Morocco’s ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, and U.S. ambassador to Rabat, Duke Buchan III. The talks focused on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in defense, the arms industry, and cybersecurity.
The meeting highlighted the strong and historic alliance between Morocco and the United States, driven by the commitments of both countries’ highest authorities. The Moroccan delegation expressed appreciation for the U.S. position supporting Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and emphasized Morocco’s efforts to promote regional and international peace and stability.
