Rabat: Morocco’s Supreme Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) and the Belgian High Council of Justice signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between the two entities in areas of mutual interest.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the memorandum was signed by Mohamed Abdennabaoui, First President of the Court of Cassation and President delegate of CSPJ, and Hilde Melotte, President of the Bureau of Belgian High Council of Justice, along with Bureau members Val©rie Delfosse, Vanessa de Francquen, and Lucia Dreser. The agreement aims to bolster bilateral cooperation based on shared values and principles related to the establishment of the rule of law in both countries.
The collaboration covers various areas including judicial independence, the rule of law, judicial governance, court administration, digitization, judicial inspection, management of magistrates’ professional situations, and training programs. The parties will exchange information and experiences to develop skills and best practices in these domains.
Additionally, both parties will provide technical assistance, set up working groups, and participate in conferences or seminars. These activities will be supported by qualified human resources and may involve joint organization of events, as well as other cooperation mechanisms determined by a joint committee.
