Geneva: Morocco’s Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, engaged in separate discussions with Rodrigue Malanda-Samba from the Republic of the Congo and Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem from Mauritius during the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference, held from June 1-12 in Geneva. The focus of these discussions was on exploring the potential for cooperation and sharing expertise and best practices in areas pertinent to their ministries.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Congo’s Minister of Employment, Entrepreneurship and Qualifying Training expressed admiration for Morocco’s initiatives in employment, vocational training, and entrepreneurship following his meeting with Sekkouri. He conveyed a strong interest in adopting Morocco’s successful strategies to enhance his country’s public policies. He emphasized that both Morocco and the Republic of the Congo face similar challenges, which presents an opportunity to collaborate and address employment-related issues effectively.
The discussions with Mauritius’ Minister of Labor and Industrial Relations revolved around strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Sekkouri highlighted Morocco’s industrial growth, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors, and the robust training ecosystem underpinning this development, notably through Morocco’s network of 12 Cities of Trades and Skills.
These meetings occurred alongside Sekkouri’s participation in the 114th ILC, where he leads a comprehensive delegation of government representatives and social partners.
