According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, with this latest victory, the Atlas Lions have solidified their position as group leaders, amassing 21 points from seven consecutive wins. They are currently ahead of Tanzania, which has 10 points, followed by Zambia and Niger with 6 points each, and Congo trailing with 1 point.
Morocco’s success in the qualifiers marks them as the first African nation to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup. This achievement will see Morocco participating in the global competition for the seventh time in history and the third consecutive time, with previous appearances in 1970, 1986, 1994, 1998, 2018, and 2022.
