Morocco Positions Itself as Strategic Hub for German and European Businesses

Marrakech: Morocco is increasingly becoming a strategic continental platform for companies aiming to establish a long-term presence in Africa, as highlighted by Jahn, a member of Germany’s ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Secretary-General of the German SME Alliance for Africa. This development is reflecting growing economic ties between Morocco and Germany, with heightened interest from German enterprises.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Jahn emphasized the shared values between the two countries and pointed out the complementary industrial strengths and robust SME ecosystems that provide a solid foundation for a sustainable partnership. Jahn also expressed enthusiasm about the forthcoming participation of a high-level BVMW business delegation, which includes prominent firms such as Siemens, at the World Power-to-X Summit in Marrakech scheduled for October. This summit will serve as a venue for companies to explore investment opportunities in Morocco.

The BVMW, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, represents over 900,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from diverse sectors. It encompasses 32 industry associations and maintains more than 300 offices in Germany and 80 internationally, including one in Morocco.
