Granada: Morocco and Spain have developed an “exemplary cooperation” in migration matters, stated the President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, at an international forum in Granada.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Armengol was speaking at the opening of a forum focused on the future of the Mediterranean, organized due to Spain’s presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM). She praised the cooperation between Morocco and Spain in managing migration flows and circular migration.
Armengol emphasized that the agreements between the two kingdoms on circular migration serve as a “model of mutually beneficial partnership” at the regional level. Notably, the circular migration program benefits approximately 15,000 Moroccan female workers each year, granting them the opportunity to work in Spain for several months before returning to Morocco.
She noted that this model showcases the excellence of Moroccan-Spanish cooperation and highlighted the strategic importance of discussing migration movements in the Mediterranean region during the forum.
