Laayoune: Morocco’s development experience, particularly in the Southern Provinces, stands as a model at the continental level, said the President of the Parliament of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), €š¬…¡¬°variste Ngamana, during a visit to the region. Ngamana’s comments came as he toured several development projects in Laayoune, accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, members of the CEMAC Parliament, and economic actors from several African countries.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Ngamana praised Morocco’s significant efforts to develop the region through major infrastructure projects, including those in education, sports, health, and industry. Notable projects such as the Phosboucraa industrial platform and the Mohammed VI Grand Library of Laayoune, which were part of the visit, contribute to job creation, especially for young people.

Ngamana highlighted the growing cooperation ties between CEMAC countries and Morocco, noting that these will be further strengthened through various initiatives aimed at fostering regional integration. He emphasized that this partnership aligns with the development goals of the African continent and commended the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Royal Initiatives supporting South-South cooperation.

Addressing the Moroccan Sahara issue, the CEMAC President reiterated the unwavering support of Central African countries-Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Chad-for Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara.

This visit takes place on the eve of the Parliamentary Forum on Economic Cooperation between the Kingdom and the CEMAC Parliament, whose proceedings will be held in Laayoune under the High Patronage of His Majesty the King.
