Rabat: Morocco will remain a key destination on the International Series calendar, following a strategic agreement reached with the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (RMGF). This two-year agreement was made official on the sidelines of the International Series Morocco, held in Rabat from July 3-6, as announced by the International Series Morocco in a press release on Tuesday.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the announcement underscores Morocco’s growing status as a major regional platform for international golf. This is attributed to a robust ecosystem dedicated to nurturing talent, highlighted by the organization of two Asian Development Tour (ADT) tournaments and other initiatives promoting the sport across various levels.
The agreement solidifies the International Series’ presence in Morocco through 2026 and at least two further editions, as confirmed by the Director of the International Series, Rahul Singh. Singh expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid for their support.
Jalil Bennazouz, representing the RMGF, remarked that the renewal of this strategic partnership presents a valuable opportunity to continue supporting young talent and helping them achieve their potential. He noted that the International Series provides a platform for national and regional players to compete against the international elite.
In related news, Zimbabwean golfer Scott Vincent claimed victory at the 3rd edition of the International Series Morocco, which took place at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat. The International Series provides direct access to the LIV Golf League for the top-ranking player of the final season.
