Morocco’s Lower House Speaker Engages in Talks with Jordanian Delegation


Rabat: Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami held talks on Monday in Rabat with Chairperson of the Standing Administrative Committee of the Jordanian House of Representatives Khaleefa Suleiman Mohammad Al-Diyat, currently on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a parliamentary delegation (May 3-10).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the meeting, both parties praised the historic and fraternal ties uniting Morocco and Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Majesty King Abdullah II. On this occasion, Talbi Alami briefed the delegation on the major institutional reforms and key projects launched by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, as well as Morocco’s parliamentary experience and the prerogatives of the House of Representatives.

For his part, Al-Diyat emphasized that this visit is part of efforts to reinforce the excellent relations between the two legislative institutions, in the spirit of promoting the e
xchange of experiences and expertise. He also highlighted the Jordanian legislature’s keenness to solidifying bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation and to activate the channels of communication, consultation, and dialogue among parliamentarians.

Al-Diyat further noted that this visit aims to draw on Morocco’s experience in decentralization and territorial management, expressing his appreciation for the deep fraternal and historical ties between the two countries, their leaders, and their peoples. During its stay in the Kingdom, the Jordanian delegation will hold meetings and conduct field visits to explore major projects undertaken by Morocco under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The Jordanian parliamentary delegation also includes MPs Abdel Basit Abdullah Saeed Al-Kabariti, Sulaiman Huwaila Al-Zeben, Tayseer Salim Daoud Al-Edwan, Ibraheem Saleh Hilal Al-Hamidi, and Mohammad Khaleel Mohammad Aql, as well as officials and executives from the General Secretariat of the
House.
