Morocco’s Security Cooperation Lauded by Senegalese Official at INTERPOL Assembly

Marrakech: The Kingdom of Morocco has been recognized as a pivotal figure in international security cooperation, largely attributed to the strategic vision of His Majesty the King. During the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly held in Marrakech from November 24-27, Senegalese official Senghor highlighted Morocco’s significant advancements, especially under the leadership of Director-General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Senghor emphasized that Morocco has become a technological and digital model in terms of security equipment, which positions it as a reference point for other nations, particularly in the Global South. He underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral ties and lauded Morocco’s commitment to training, which solidifies its status as a partner to Senegal and other countries.

The strong cooperation between the National Central Bureaus (NCBs) in Rabat and Dakar, especially concerning data and information exchange, has been cited as evidence of the robust relationship between the two nations. Senghor also praised Morocco for hosting the world’s largest assembly of law-enforcement leaders, which serves as a crucial platform for building relationships and sharing best practices.

This year’s INTERPOL General Assembly has attracted over 800 delegates from 179 countries, including 82 police chiefs. The discussions are centered around critical issues such as dismantling transnational organized crime, eliminating cross-border scam centers, enhancing INTERPOL’s global policing capabilities, and promoting the role of women in law enforcement.
