Morocco’s Top Police Chief Meets UN Police Adviser in Marrakech


Marrakech: Morocco’s top police chief held a significant meeting with the UN Police Adviser and Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law at the Menara Gardens in Marrakech. This meeting coincided with the 93rd General Assembly of the International Organization of Criminal Police (IPCO-INTERPOL), held on November 24-27.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting underscored the UN Secretary General’s desire to enhance security cooperation and partnership with Morocco’s National Security services. This move aims to strengthen and support the UN Police, both at its central headquarters in New York and in its peacekeeping missions across various conflict zones globally.



The UN official highlighted Morocco’s police force for their operational expertise, professionalism, and language skills, which make them valuable assets in different UN missions worldwide. These discussions are part of a series of bilateral meetings involving Morocco’s police chief and delegates from countries, as well as international and regional organizations attending the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly.



The overall objective of these meetings is to enhance cooperation and establish solid security partnerships between Morocco and a range of regional and international partners, in an effort to promote global security and combat all forms of transnational crime.
