Manama, The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company (Tadweer Group), signed a memorandum of understanding.
The MoU signing was attended by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister, and Ali Al Dhaheri, the Managing Director and CEO of Tadweer Group.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry Undersecretary, and Ali Al Dhaheri from Tadweer Group signed the MoU.
Minister Al Mubarak said the MoU is part of the ongoing collaboration between Bahrain and the UAE and the integration among GCC countries. It aims to promote collaboration between the public and private sectors, facilitate knowledge sharing in waste management and recycling, capacity building within the industry, and explore investment opportunities in Bahrain’s waste management sector. It also aims to facilitate the exchange of information, studies, and research in accordance with their respective policies and
obligations.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said the MoU will focus on exploring cooperation in waste-to-energy transformation, plastic recycling, recycling electronic equipment, and recycling used cooking oil.
