PRETORIA: The embassy of Palestine in South Africa hosted an event at its premises today in support of the South African legal team prosecuting Israel for committing the crime of genocide at the International Court of Justice
A delegation, including officials from the African National Congress in Gauteng Province, parliamentarians, a large group of Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Pretoria, as well as human rights activists and legal experts, participated in the event.
The attendees observed the first hearing of the South African defense team and delivered words of support for the team present in The Hague.
Ambassador Hanan Jarrar of the State of Palestine to the Republic of South Africa expressed gratitude to the participants for their involvement in this historic day for Palestine, South Africa, and the world.
She added her voice to millions in Palestine and worldwide, appreciating South Africa’s initiative and wishing success to the team in achieving their objectives, with a primary focus on
an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the opening of humanitarian corridors.
