JERUSALEM: A Palestinian man was hit in the head with a rubber-coated metal bullet today as Israeli occupation forces targeted him inside his home during an Israeli military raid into Shuafat refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.
A circulating video footage showed an Israeli police officer deliberately firing directly at a Palestinian man standing at the window of his house in the camp. The man was filming the Israeli raid into the camp using his mobile phone. He was struck in the head by a rubber-coated metal bullet.
Confrontations erupted in the camp between several residents and the Israeli occupation forces, who deployed a large force comprising dozens of soldiers and police officers to the camp.
During the confrontations, Israeli troops fired rubber-coated bullets and tear gas canisters, causing one injury and shattering the window of a house in the camp. Several people suffered from inhalation due to tear gas.
The occupation forces also obstructed the work of journalists, preventing some of the
m from covering the raid, and impeded the movement of citizens, hindering their access to their homes.
