Lima – The Peruvian Member of Parliament (MP) and former president of the Foreign Affairs Commission of Peru’s Congress, Ernesto Bustamante, commended HM King Mohammed VI’s far-sighted vision in modernizing Morocco.
‘Over the past 25 years, Morocco has undergone an extraordinary evolution,’ Bustamante told MAP on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day.
Since His enthronement, the Sovereign ‘has played a key role in positioning Morocco on the international stage,’ he noted, referring in this context to major infrastructure projects that contribute to the Kingdom’s continental and international influence, including the Tanger-Med port, a ‘huge success’ on the world maritime map.
Bustamante pointed out that ‘the economic development and commercial positioning of Morocco are the most important tools of Moroccan diplomacy, as they make it possible to project the image of Morocco as a hub of development and economic growth. This makes it easier to build friendships with other countries.’
‘This dynamic has show
n the extent to which HM King Mohammed VI has been the driving force that has made Morocco what it is today,’ said Bustamante, who chairs the Peru-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Referring to the visits he made to the Kingdom and the progress he observed first-hand, particularly in the Southern Provinces, Bustamante stressed that the future port of Dakhla ‘could serve as a projection point towards South America.’
