RAMALLAH: Presidential spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stressed that the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people today, which has so far claimed the lives of dozens of civilians in the Gaza Strip and five in the West Bank, constitutes a challenge to international law, particularly the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) which explicitly ordered Israel to take action to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza.
Abu Rudeina added that the killing policy, genocide, and collective punishment committed by the occupation authorities against Palestinians have led the entire region to a dangerous situation with unpredictable consequences.
He called on the U.S. administration to act immediately to oblige Israel to stop its comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people, their land and sanctities before giving justification or false arguments aimed at the continuation of this occupation, which insists on violating all resolutions of international legitimacy and international law.
He stressed that Israel insists on shifting its position against the two-state solution through the implementation of de facto measures on the ground.
The spokesman stressed that these ongoing crimes would not bring security and stability to anyone, stating that: ‘The only way out is through compliance with international legitimacy and the recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, primarily ending the occupation and embodying the establishment of the Palestinian State so that the world can enjoy peace, security and stability.
He stressed that it is no longer acceptable to continue talking about a two-state solution, while the occupation continues its genocide in the Gaza Strip, the killings and collective punishment in the West Bank and its plans for the construction of more colonies.
