Sustainable Development Minister, Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, has affirmed the depth of the long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
She stressed that the unwavering interest and care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and President His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the UAE have contributed to bringing about more successes and achievements for the two countries and peoples.
The minister made the statements while meeting Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange and Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals, on the sidelines of her official visit to the UAE, aiming to discuss ways to exchange the best practices and experiences in the fields of sustainable development.
The two sides reviewed the two governments’ efforts to fast-track efforts to achieve the sustainable development agenda at the local and global levels.
Al-Khulaif was briefed on the best practices and innovative work models developed by the UAE government in various fields of work. She also informed about the UAE government’s performance system, which was developed to ensure the highest levels of government excellence and efficiency.
Minister Al-Khulaif praised the innovative models developed by the UAE in various areas of government work, stressing the keenness of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to exchange knowledge and share experiences with the UAE government in areas related to government work and initiatives aimed at promoting the process of achieving sustainable development.
Abdullah Nasser Lootah expressed his pride in the continuous UAE-Bahrain constructive cooperation, praising the kingdom’s great interest in achieving sustainable development goals.
He asserted that Bahrain’s achievements since the presentation of its first national voluntary report reflects the government’s commitment to accelerating the achievement of development goals.
During the visit, Minister Al-Khulaif also met with the team of the UAE Government Experience Exchange Programme. She was briefed about the programme, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime and Dubai Ruler, including goals and achievements over the past five years, in addition to its positive partnerships with 30 countries.
The minister also visited the headquarters of the “Beeah” company and the Museum of the Future, where she met Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation. She was briefed on the latest initiatives and achievements made by the UAE in the domain of future sciences. She stressed the importance of availing of the UAE’s experience in the field.
Minister Al-Khulaif also met UAE Minister of State, Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al-Shamsi.
