Thanks to HM the King’s Enlightened Vision, Morocco Plays Key Role in Promoting Regional Stability: FM

Rabat: ‘Thanks to the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco also holds a constructive role, due to its privileged geographic situation, within its own region as well as within the Sahel region,’ Bourita said during a joint press conference with the Republic of North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timco Mucunski.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Bourita underlined the Kingdom’s leading role within its area and in North Africa, mainly in the Libyan process. He highlighted the Atlantic Initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aim to promote stability in an unstable regional environment.

The minister emphasized that Morocco is an efficient and essential partner for the European Union in the Euro-Mediterranean area, which faces several challenges related to migration, cross-border crime, and economic disparities. In this respect, he pointed out that Morocco intends to build an equal and open partnership with the European economy, ‘based on values, interests and concrete results. This is what Morocco aims to establish with the European Union.’

Bourita also mentioned Morocco’s significant role in the Middle East, noting that the country has always been a major actor through His Majesty the King’s role as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee in bringing together parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He stated that all these factors give Morocco an essential role in de-escalating tensions and promoting a lasting solution in the Middle East based on the two-state solution: a Palestinian state, with East Al-Quds as its capital on the 1967 borders, alongside the State of Israel, living side by side in security, stability, and peace.

He further stressed that Morocco has consistently advocated stability and positive solutions, which aligns it with countries like the Republic of North Macedonia, with which it shares the same concerns and values.
