Turkish Official Praises Enormous Potential for Morocco-Trkiye Economic Cooperation

Rabat: Speaking at a working meeting between Turkish private operators and their Moroccan peers, attended by Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira, Tuzcu highlighted the strong economic interdependence between the two countries in key sectors such as industry and agriculture. To him, this dynamic offers enormous opportunities for development and deeper strategic partnership.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Hejira stressed the need to improve cooperation in foreign trade and investment, with a particular focus on strengthening Moroccan exports to the Turkish market. Hejira also noted the importance of developing Turkish investment in Morocco, supporting the revitalization of bilateral economic relations. The prospects for commercial development between Morocco and Trkiye are promising, he said, adding that both countries are committed to diversifying and intensifying their trade relations.

Tuzcu’s visit to Morocco at the head of this delegation of more than 20 companies representing vario
us sectors of the Turkish economy follows the joint statement issued last June, which marks a new stage in formalizing the two countries’ commitment to a fair and sustainable economic alliance. It demonstrates the relevance of the joint approach and the concrete interest of Moroccan and Turkish investors in exploring mutually beneficial investment opportunities and prospects for enhanced cooperation in priority sectors.

On this occasion, the parties agreed to identify new opportunities between private operators in both countries in high-potential sectors and to encourage Turkish companies investments in Morocco, including in the textile sector. To this end, a business forum will be scheduled in Istanbul in mid-November 2025 to give way to operational projects that serve the economic growth and interests of both countries.

While emphasizing the importance of the free trade agreement between Morocco and Trkiye, the two parties decided to expand preferential access for Moroccan agricultural products to the Tur
kish market and set up a joint working group to define the products concerned.
