31% of Morocco’s Primary Schools Teach AmazighIsraeli forces fatally shoot three Palestinians in their 20s in Tulkarem

Rabat – The Amazigh language is taught in 31% of Morocco’s primary schools, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, said on Monday.

The ministry aims to reach a rate of 50% during the school year 2025-2026, Benmoussa underlined at the House of Representatives’ question time.

To achieve this objective, the ministry recruited 200 Amazigh language teachers in 2021, 400 in 2022 and 600 in 2023, in addition to the recruitment of bilingual teachers.

During the 2023 session, a first promotion of primary education inspectors (Amazigh language) was trained, Benmoussa recalled, adding that the ministry also approved new school manuals for Amazigh language teaching in primary schools.

TULKAREM: Israeli occupation soldiers tonight fatally shot three Palestinian youths in their early 20s in the town of Iktaba to the east of Tulkarem City, said WAFA correspondent.

A special Israeli unit, accompanied by a large military force, stormed the town of Iktaba amid the heavy firing of live bullets toward a parked vehicle, before cordoning off one of the houses in the area and fatally shooting three youths inside.

The Ministry of Health announced that three youths arrived dead to the Tulkarem Governmental Hospital, after being shot by Israeli forces.

The three were identified as Yusuf Ali Al-Kholi, 22, Ahed Salman Mousa, 23, and Tareq Amjad Shahin, 24.

According to sources, Israeli forces ran over one of the bodies with their military jeep before withdrawing from the area.

A fourth youth was shot and injured by the occupation soldiers during the military offensive and detained despite his injuries.

Sources at the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Tulkarem told WAFA correspondent that forc
es prevented its ambulances at gunpoint from reaching the youths, and were only allowed access into the area following the army’s withdrawal.

National and Islamic factions declared a general strike in Tulkarem tomorrow, Tuesday, in mourning of the three slain Palestinians.
