Rabat: Despite challenging circumstances in and around Al-Quds, Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency has allocated $2.2 million for projects supporting Palestinians in the first half of 2025. The agency, which operates under the Al-Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), remains committed to supporting the Palestinian population as per the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the agency’s semi-annual report outlines its mission to address the deteriorating socio-economic conditions impacting Palestinians. The agency’s initiatives include social assistance campaigns, orphan sponsorship, and support for vulnerable families, with $703,000 allocated for these programs. Additionally, an annual grant program supports organizations assisting people with disabilities.
Education remains a key focus, with $421,000 dedicated to rehabilitating Al-Quds University’s Beit Hanina campus. The Moroccan Association for Reconstruction Support in Palestine has funded this effort. The agency also provided $135,000 in scholarships to 331 students at various universities, ensuring educational opportunities continue.
The agency has financed research studies for the “Arribat” Monitoring and Evaluation Observatory and the Holy City Governorate, emphasizing mental health, digital reality, and the situation in Al-Quds under occupation. Furthermore, it funded publications on journalism in conflict zones and the presence of Moroccans in Jerusalem, costing $87,000.
For the second year, Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency has supported Palestinian startups through the “BMAQ BINHUB” innovation incubator, benefiting young entrepreneurs with a $410,000 budget funded by Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
The “Children for Al-Quds Club” program received $78,000, launching initiatives to promote Jerusalem’s values among youth, including a mobile app, animated series, and art competition. The agency also hosted the “International Children’s Summit Simulation for Al-Quds” with the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco.
In Gaza, under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the agency, along with the Ertiqa Local Development Association, has executed relief efforts for 1,500 displaced families, distributing essential goods with a $150,000 budget. An additional $34,000 funded a study on skin diseases, followed by medicine distribution.
Support for Gaza’s education system includes securing university records on cloud servers and assessing the impact of a remote learning platform. Scholarships were awarded to eight final-year students for advanced studies in Rabat.
In coordination with the Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah, the agency is aiding 45 Palestinian children with limb amputations, part of a larger initiative to support 300 children, funded by the Ministry of Social Integration and Moroccan Association for Reconstruction Support. A $200,000 budget supports this phase.
The agency also sponsors 500 orphaned children from Gaza, providing monthly stipends and seasonal support. Plans are underway to establish a psychological clinic for vulnerable children in Gaza once security conditions allow.
