Meknes: The International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM) is a showcase of the excellence and dynamism of Moroccan agriculture, stated on Tuesday in Meknes the French Minister of Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty, Anne Genevard. Speaking at the opening of the meeting of the France-Morocco Joint Agricultural Committee, held on the sidelines of the 18th edition of SIAM, Genevard emphasized the event’s significance as more than just a professional gathering, but as a true testament to Moroccan agricultural prowess.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Genevard underscored the strategic importance of the joint committee meeting, which precedes a high-level meeting between the governments of France and Morocco. This meeting will address the full scope of their bilateral cooperation, focusing on reviewing progress in water management, agricultural education, and animal health, as well as identifying necessary adjustments to deepen Franco-Moroccan collaboration.
The meeting also aims to explore new areas of action for 2026 and 2027, leveraging the collective intelligence of administrations and professionals from both nations. Ahmed El Bouari, Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, highlighted the importance of dynamic exchanges between institutions for regular and operational monitoring of commitments.
El Bouari stressed strengthening partnerships between professional sectors, focusing on initiatives launched during SIAM 2024 and reinforced in 2025. These initiatives aim to scale up by focusing on concrete projects that create value and integrate sustainability requirements. He also noted the remarkable momentum of France-Morocco relations since 2024, with 2025 marked as a significant success due to closer ties between institutions, territories, and professional sectors of both countries.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 18th SIAM hosts more than 1,500 exhibitors, 500 cooperatives, 200 breeders, and 45 foreign delegations, with expected attendance exceeding 1.1 million visitors.
